Friday, June 7 2013 marked the official opening of Littlehampton Academy’s new building, and we were naturally delighted to be asked to provide catering for the event.
The Academy first opened in September 2009 as a direct replacement for the Littlehampton Community School and has been an exemplar for successful learning in West Sussex, under the motto of “faith, unity and vision”.
Continued expansion of the school has seen the undertaking of a £32m building project, culminating in the opening this month, which was attended by over 100 guests, and presided over by the hugely popular comedian and actor Hugh Dennis (who many will know from his role in the BBC smash “Outnumbered” as well as numerous appearances on “Mock the Week”, and “The Now Show”).
We were called upon to provide refreshments for the gathered throng, and set up camp in the library to provide everything from tea and mouthwatering cakes to a selection of our trademark savoury dishes.
All in all, the event was a great success, and the academy’s Community Liaison Officer, Sara Hopkins, was moved to write these fine words on our levels of service:
Thank you Sharon to you and your brilliant team – you helped to make it a perfect day and helped us to make our important guests feel really welcome. Look forward to working with you again.
Thank you for having us, Sara and likewise, we will look forward to working with you again too! We wish you and Littlehamton Academy all the best for the coming school year and beyond.
